Waffles






1 3/4 cups sweet milk
2 cups flour
1/2 cup melted butter
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs separated
Beat egg yolks, and add milk; add flour to make a stiff batter; add melted butter, or other shortening, and salt; add baking powder; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites; bake in well greased hot waffle iron until golden brown; serve hot with butter and syrup. Will make six large waffles.
